Skeleton Gorge

This classic route up Table Mountain starts at the world-renowned Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens. After a short walk through the gardens, we enter the indigenous forest that stretches all the way up the gorge and provides welcome shade on warmer summer days. The diversity in vegetation and views are unmatched and makes the route worth the work. The route includes a stop at the Hely-Hutchinson dam and Maclear’s Beacon, the highest point on Table Mountain. The trail finishes with a walk along the front table towards the Cableway with spectacular views of the city, coastline and peninsula.
